PURPOSE

This webinar will provide information on the types of passages and associated questions included in the TOEFL iBT® test reading section. The variety of question types will be discussed along with examples and learning objectives that classroom activities should be built around to help your students succeed. There will be also time for Q&A.  

This webinar will be recorded and shared with all registrants.

  • Learn about specificities of academic reading and possible challenges in developing academic reading skills 

  • Understand the different types of questions in the reading section and see examples

Peter Westerhuis

Peter Westerhuis is an ELT Coordinator at ETS Global. Originally from Vancouver, he is now based in Lyon. With over 12 years of teaching experience, he has taught English in Canada, South Korea, and France to students of all ages and proficiency levels. Currently, he supports and collaborates with English teachers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Sena Elibal İçuz

Sena Elibal İçuz is an ELT Coordinator at ETS Global. She is responsible for the outreach to the ELT community, offering expertise in the TOEFL iBT® test, delivering teacher training sessions and creating content. Previously, Sena worked as a university EAP instructor teaching at preparatory English programs and general English programs along with her other academic and administrative duties. She holds BA and MA degrees in English language and literature, and credentials in ELT. She is passionate about teacher professional development and increasing quality in ELT.
